good afternoon,

moving to st. thomas and have a million questions:

1) Ship a car or buy on island? probably a 2 or 3 year commitment to usvi.
2) long distance runner, any recomendation of running routes?
3) looking for a rental, unfurnished, 2-3 bedrooms, preferably on the east end, with a small dog, bassett hound, don't smoke, drink or party. (Could do a two year lease, with stable work.)

Thanks in anticipation.

2) There is a small group of longer distance runners. Most of the local races through STAR (St Thomas Association of Roadrunners) are shorter, but there are occasional distance runs. In November there is a half marathon on Tortola and the 8 Tuff Miles on St John in February. Check in at Caribbean Surf Co and ask about STAR. Once you meet a few of the runners, they will show you the ropes. Good luck!

Oopsie. Found the STAR website: stthomasroadrunners.org, but it seems to be down. Call Therese 340-775-6373 when you get settled. She can find you a running group or someone to show you the routes.

2) Though I am not a long-distance runner, I am a dog owner, so finding suitable walking areas is a must. I see lots of people walking along the "highways," which scares me. Please make sure you wear plenty of reflective gear.

When are you planning on moving? I have a great 2bd 2 bth cottage in a beautiful neighborhood (Estate Mafolie). You are right in the middle of running routes up here. You can walk out door and start running...no need to drive to start route (a big perk here). I am not a long distance runner ( trails only for me). But many of my friends are runners. I am looking for a responsible roommate. I am off island 3-4 days every week. So you would basically the place to yourself Thurs pm- Mon pm. Check out pics of Peterborg..lots of runners do "the tower" there..very pretty.

If you are interested in the cottage I can send you a pic. Hardwood floors, w/d, a/c. Lots of huge mahogany trees in this area, very mellow quiet neighborhood. You're Basset Hound is welcome. I have a friendly little Cavalier who always travels with me.

my email is [email protected]
