Hello all,

I live on STT. My laptop has been attacked by a
virus. Does anyone know of a good computer
guy that they can recommend?

Please let me know
ASAP as I depend on my laptop for work.

Thank guys.

You need to have anti virus software on your computer anyway.
So download anti virus software that is updated daily such as avast.
Cut & paste this link in your browser:
http://www.avast.com

The software is free & may very well eradicate the virus you have.
Goodluck!

dun, with all respect due, if she is infected she really should not be on the internet. best to have someone else download and put on a cd or stick for her to run on her computer.

if she is infected, she could end up spreading the virus and anything else she might have online or attacking someone's network inadvertently, which could get her shut off by her isp's abuse dept.

A Davis, any & all computers can have a virus at any given time, the fact that deb posted, means she/he still has access to the Internet.
While I don`t wish to help spread any virus, unfortunately most of us have had them, & delt with them.

My post was to help deb eradicate her own virus, for free, to be more self reliant.
To also have the tools to keep future annoyances at bay.
The ISP IT guys know this happens all the time, as should you.
Your suggestion of installing anti virus software via CD/DVD/USB device is a good & valid .

But, I don`t think I speak for myself in that, if i had a virus now, I wouldn`t/couldn`t deal with it via the Internet.
Many people who I run across who are sure they have a virus, actually have spy or Mal ware which can sometimes be more annoying than a virus, Trojan or worm.

Question for debraann, what makes you think you have a virus? What does your computer do/don`t do to?

dun, i don't agree. i think that infected computers should be kept off the internet (and any network, including home or office) until no longer in that condition.

Yes, I know of a great computer person on island who can definitely fix your machine at a reasonable rate.
