leasing a vehicle STX

What dealership do you all recommend for doing a month to month vehicle lease? I don't know how long I'll stay, month to month basis at this point. Someone suggested this as an option to renting a car which is much too expensive.

When you say dealership, I am not aware of any on St Croix who offer a short term lease. There are several rental car agencies who will rent you a car for one month or longer at a slightly discounted rate. The rental car will be insured and registered and cost you between $800 and $1000 a month plus gas. It is no bargain, but that is what we have. Several years ago, when I was coming for a month or two in the winter, I rented from both Judy's and Centerline. They both served me well, but I always felt sort of 'ripped off' with the high monthly price. However, in reality, that is what it costs to run a car here, so take it or leave it....sorry

If you are really into 'self abuse', and are staying for more than a month or two, you might consider buying an island car. That would mean you would buy a car for $2 or $3 K, get it registered and insured and then sell it when you leave. You might save something, but I don't know how much...
