Looking: Diesel or Gas Pickup, $800 to $2000

Hey, everybody! My name is Max, just moved on island with my GF, a Christiansted native. We have had a hard time locating a good vehicle on St. Croix, and I am posting here in hopes that someone might have a lead on one. We are looking for a pickup truck, preferably diesel but it isn't imperative that it is; gas engines are fine too. The main thing is just to get a truck that runs, drives, and doesn't have a blown head gasket or bad transmission. Those seem to be the most common issues here. We have only modest means so we're looking at just about anything that is $2000 or less. I know that narrows the field a bit, but it's what we have to work with.
