Hi, I just relocated to the USVI. Am looking for employment, I am not specific on the type. I am hoping to be able to work on a boat / on the water, or in a job somehow related to it. Love the ocean so that is why I relocated here to be close to it. But willing to do almost any kind of work. I don't have a car, so will be depending on walking, hitchhiking, safaris and buses. I am on the north side of St. Thomas temporarily, also working on finding a long term place to stay / rent. Am also open to working on St. John or Water Island in addition to St. Thomas. Would be a bit more difficult for St. Croix because of getting there for an interview if necessary. But please also let me know if you have a position / need help on St.Croix as well to discuss further. I have extensive professional experience in technical sales, customer service, purchasing, office admin., etc. But would love to do something eclectic / different. If you are by chance looking for any kind of help, boat crew, etc., can you please keep me in mind / let me know? I am a very hard worker, gives way over 100 %. I am a fast learner, trustworthy, dependable, great at multi-tasking. I am sober, no drugs, no drama. Just looking for something to make it work here in the beautiful islands. I have a complete resume I can send if needed. Thank you for reading! Please let me know.

Congrats on the gutsy move without a job. The best way is to pound the pavement and talk to people. Referrals and word of mouth is big here. Now i'm on STX but I'm sure the same goes for STT.

Do you have any experience working on a boat/yacht?
Can you sail, dive, snorkel, have no fear of water?

STT offers more opportunities in this industry and Red Hook/East End location would be more suitable for finding a position whether at a marina or beach resort, restaurant, beach businesses, etc.

You can try down at Hull Bay Hideaway. Someone down there has kayak rentals a boat snorkel tours. Can't remember the name of business, offhand.

Ecotours (east end and frenctown locations) may have openings for kayak guides.

Without a car, living northside and working anywhere on east end or in town will be difficult, especially after dark if you end up working nights at a restaurant.

Try to find someplace to live that's close to where you work as even with public transportation, they pick up from main roads so you still have to get from there to jobsite and back. There were quit a few roommate situations on Craig's List.

As stxsailor said, you just have to make the rounds and pound the pavement. Good luck. Be safe.
