My fiance and I are relocating to St. Croix on August 1, 2007. We are looking for a reasonable apartment or studio for a yearly rental in the price range of $600-$800 per month. We will both be attending UVI and although we would prefer a furnished apartment, we are flexible with regard to location or space, furnished or non-furnished, or utilities included.

You can read this board between now and August to get general ideas, but I'm fairly certain you will not be able to nail anything down until closer to your arrival date. Have you checked with UVI? They may be able to steer you in the right direction.

I have to say that $600-$800 is a little low.

Linda is right....however, there usually are apts in that price range at Bay Gardens Condos (mid-island) and also at Liberty Hall Apts (Frederiksted)

From today's Avis:
Apt. in Bay Gardens for rent. One bedroom, 1 bath, $700 a month. 1 year lease, 1 month deposit. Telephone & electric not included. Call Roselyn Lang 773.0548 or Mary 1-505-864-2181. (please note: I think this listing is by the owner of the condo, not the condo complex.)

At Liberty Hall - Apartments on Hospital St., F'sted, in the fenced courtyard there is a free standing two bdrm 1 1/2 bath cottage, furnished with covered porch. Small, charming and affordable at $700/mo. Two people maximum, one year lease. Pets? Cats are ok but no dogs. Call Sandra Neville for details at 340-772-0420. (these apts are rented out thru a real estate agency)

Good luck + welcome to STX!

You should be able to find a small one bedroom or studio in that price range from someone renting out a apartment in there house most likely. It will be very basic most likely but you can find something in that range but you need to be here because they go quickly(if its a good neighborhood), and most likely utilites will not be included.

Thank you everyone for your comments.
The Liberty Hall location sounds nice. I will call the number tomorrow.

Please let me know if there is anyone interested in renting out an apartment or section of their house under the above terms by email at [email protected].

Thanks again.
