Ideas, suggestions and/or comments: Contact the downtown jewelry shops individually. Come down and pound the streets. If you are persona non grata at Diamonds International, will that make a difference with other companies? This is a small island, after all. Henry, have you been here for a look-see visit? Those who are trying to escape frequently find this place to be rather stifling.

As stated in my first post, Yes I have been there, Really enjoyed the Islands, It's people.co-workers,places, etc. However had huge responsibilities back home IE-house payments, wife, kids, Still have the kids, However all the other baggage is gone.

Probably the reason for my post is just how small the island really is?
D.I. stats because I departed the Island without a 2 week notice I am ineligible for re-hire, They knew my situation at home and were helpful in many ways, However I felt if they were a little more forthright in their commissions and the fact that they are 30 days behind IE- get paid in January for November sales, I would have planed a little differently.

bottom line will my past with D.I. haunt me and will I be wasting my time trying to return ( does one company have that much impact on my future employment on the Island)

Thanks for all your input both positive an/or negative, I would really like to return!

I don't know the jewelry business in particular, but I know good help can be hard to find down here.

I have seen companies on STX take people back as employees after swearing them off for very good reasons, just because, well, "the evil you know...", I guess.

Give it a shot. You can't do it from there, though.

maybe you could make an offer to DI that if you didn't give 2 weeks notice before quitting the next time around that they'd get to keep your final 2 weeks of commissions. That would give you incentive to give proper notice and them incentive to give you another try. couldn't hurt.
