Hello to all. I am currently waiting on an employment response, but in the meantime I felt it would be best to use all the tools at my disposal to find a place to rent in case things fall into place quicker than expected. I am unfamiliar with St. Thomas, so any advice on housing, roommates or not, would be great. As with any place, there must be areas on the island that one might chose over another (i.e. cost, location, transportation etc.)...any advice with that would be great. If all goes well, I would be in the area surrounding Frenchman's Cove. If you're local to St. Thomas I would take any suggestions you have..no matter how general. Since I am moving from the States I prefer to find a furnished place and close to public transportation. Getting there is easy for me, but moving a bunch of things would be too much. We all know the same story...those who can reply will know what I have in mind. Thank you to any and all replies! I would expect to make the move sometime in mid-August.

Since you are not familar with STT I suggest that you come down a week or so before you are to start your job and look around for a place to live. It will be very hard for you to select an apartment out of the blue and expect that when you get down it will be what you want.

There are several places yo can stay for a little money. Town offers some low cost places and I offer guest rooms on the east end.

PM me if you are interested.

The area immediately surrounding Frenchman's Cove is not on the public transporation route. Most rental units are furnished or mostly furninshed. You really do want to see the place you are renting. If you can't come for a visit before you move here, I might suggest finding temporary digs (check Villa Fairview, for example) and then looking for your more permanent location.
