Hello all:

My wife and I are looking to spend January through March on St. Croix in 2009 and are looking for a place that will do a three-month rental. We don't need anything fancy--just a one-bedroom place that's clean and safe and that provides the opportunity for Web access and good cellphone coverage. We'd prefer a north shore or west end location, but are open to other areas if the place is right. Our budget is no more than $1,000/mo. We're a professional couple who run a consulting firm, own property on STX, and are looking to escape the snow and cold of the winter.

We'd like to commit to a place within the next month so we can begin making our arrangements. Anyone with a place that meets these requirements, or knowing of one, please let me know.

Hello Bathiel.

I don't live on the island, but I may have some helpful info. There is a post in the classifieds board titled "Short Term Rentals STX" by j.v.o.
For the moment it is on page 6. It's for the Hibiscus Beach Resort. It's more like a nice hotel on the beach... and I'm not putting the place down, this is what the guy told me when I called. He quoted me a price of $1000 for one month, includes everything.

I don't know if they are willing to do three months for 1000 each or if they will even be doing this deal come January, but I thought I'd let you know. The guy sent me pics and the place looks great, right on the beach, with a pool and bar. And I belive it is located on or near the North Shore, but don't take my word for that. Anyways, just giving you a little info. Good luck.

Trey--thanks for the tip. I actually already found that post and PM'ed the poster. I'm very familiar with the Hibiscus--it's a really nice, quaint place, and the restaurant/bar (H20/Elizabeth's) is a nice place to hang. The beach there is very cool as well.

If they were willing to do that deal for three months, I'd grab it. I like the place and its location is perfect for us.
