My boyfriend and I are planning on moving to st. john with our 17 month old daughter, as well as another couple who have previously lived there recently. I am a nurse assistant, and am about to be a licensed Esthetician (skin care professional). My boyfriend and his friend would be interested in working at a marina, both are Dive certified, and would possibly like to pursue being captains. The couple that would be moving with us who lived there before do have connections, and still know people who live there, but I thought I would put the word out there. We are very excited to move there, and want to bring a warm loving energy to the island, anyone out there who wants to mentor us or help in any way, feel free!! Thank you!

There are no marinas on St John. It may be a bit easier if you start in St Thomas. Check on the general info forum about licensing for estheticians, I know there was a discussion there recently. Nursing assistants (CNA or HHA?) are needed, but you will be surprised at the salaries. Early in September is pretty quiet, but a good time to find housing.

Well that was my next thought, I may need a national license. Thank you for your thoughts. Suprised at salaries in what way? How long have you lived in st john?

I live on St Thomas. Nursing assistant salaries are probably not what you can expect in the states. Salaries in general are lower here and costs are higher. Re: esthetician license- I don't know about a national license, but you will definitely need a territorial one.I believe I answered you on the General Moving forum.
