Moving to STX in two weeks and need a room for rent

Hello, I'm 43 year old swf who's tired of participating in the rat race we call life and recent circumstances have allowed me to make a major life change by selling all my possessions and moving to St Croix on Oct 13th. I'll be bringing only my clothes and my sweet, well-behaved 10-lb dog named Stuart.

I've never been to St Croix before so I'd like to find a room for rent - I'm guessing I'll need anywhere from 3-7 nights, which would allow me enough time to do some exploring of the area and look for a studio/efficiency.

I'm quiet, respectful, mature and clean. Although I'm ridiculously excited about this new adventure, I also have to admit I'm a bit nervous about moving to a place where I don't have any connections or knowledge of the area so if any you good people know of a room available 10/13 to possibly 10/20, please let me know! Thanks! I can't wait to get there!

The studio my husband, cat & I got for our 1st week here is out because of the dog. Another difficulty was that a week was too short a time for choosing a more permanent place, hence 2 years later we are still in a condo that covered the basics, but just barely. I expect a sizable mountain of $$ could make the whole process quicker & easier. Many of the hosts at airbnb.com are quite helpful if you can find a dog friendly one. Good luck in your quest
