My friend and I are moving down to the Virgin Islands in the end of January. We are looking for an apartment/studio/room to rent beginning in the end of Jan through March/April. If a shorter time frame is all that is available, that is fine too. We are reliable, neat, upbeat, and respectful. We worked this past summer in Glacier Bay Alaska and are moving to the Virgin Islands now for the winter. At the least, we'd love any tips/suggestions for affordable accommodations until we find a place to rent. Thank you!!!

First suggestion: decide which island you want, and visit before you move. There's only so much you can find out from a website. And get a newspaper, because the rentals advertised online tend to run a lot more expensive than the ones in the paper, at least on STX.

Also: have a car. I was without one for a year on St. Croix. There are a lot of areas, including employment opportunities, that you just won't be able to access on a regular basis without a car.
