offer any kind of mechanical guarantee or backing of your products?

Good question. I mostly deal with high mileage older cars. Because of that fact coupled with the road conditions and terrain on STX I cannot offer any type of guaranty. I do use my own judgment when dealing with an issue after the sale. If you buy a car from me and the fuel pump dies the next day, I will fix it. If you bottom out and put a hole in your oil pan, I cannot fix it on my dime, but I always encourage my customers to contact me with any issues because I have a garage that I work with and can help get it fixed at a reasonable cost. I also help my customers get parts and diagnose issues.

With that being said, all of the cars that I own personally I drive for at least a few days, sometimes a lot longer, so I know what is going on with them and am always honest with my customers if there is an issue. For example, I currently have a 2001 Cavalier that takes about 10 seconds to grab reverse when cold. I disclose this to every person who is considering it.

The bottom line is I am trying to build my business and my name here, so I always try to use good business practices. But I also know in the car business, especially dealing with the older cars as I do, that you cant please everyone. However, I will always try!

good answer, Best of luck.

The price range you are representing is much needed in these hard economical times; your customers will be truly grateful for the sanity introduced by your vehicles and their prices.
