Looking for any and all options for living accomodation recomendations. I do not need much and do not want to spend much. What are the pet friendly/ studio or bedroom/ 6 month to 1 year rental options like in the area? What are the on island cell phone/ main land phone situations like? any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!!

First, cell phone situation---if you have Verizon, get rid of it or make it inactive.

ATT and SPrint seem to have the best. I prefer ATT. I suggest you buy an ATT go phone in the states. You usually can get one for $25 to 35 , no cost to activate. Purchasing in states give you the area code where you are coming from---friends and family can call , no extra charge. Its not much more here, but you will have a 340 area code---local.

I prefer the $50 monthly pay as you go plan---no contract, and you get unlimited calls, text, and basic Internet. The downside of purchasing and activating your phone in the states, is JOB hunting. Jobs you apply for will see stateside area code, and some employers are turned off by this, IE thinking your like one of many coming from the states, and within a year or two, you will be leaving.

I usually have a one bedroom or studio available. Monthly rent is $650 to $800, no utilities. Anyone coming from the states, I start you off on a vacation rental for $250, utilities included, two week minimum. If the unit is want you were looking for and the unit is a good arrangement for you and pet, and other existing tenants, we sign a 30 day lease agreement, two month minimum. If you would like pictures, send me your email.

Good luck----and insure to coordinate with airlines if you are traveling with a pet-----don't assume you can tell them last minute and the space will be available.
