I am planning on retiring to St., Croix and plan on buying a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo inland around $200.000.00 in a retirement gated community. My husband and I will be in our late 60's. Looking for low to median condo's fees. Can someone tell me what places are the best. I plan on visiting the island in August of 2010. Please give me some suggestions and guidance's on where to look. Or if you can recommend a real estate agent.

thanks

Hi Lois,
Welcome to the forum. Are you familiar with http://www.realtor.com ? You can find most of the real estate listings for St. Croix on there. I don't know of a designated retirement condo community, if you are talking about a 55+ complex. Lots of retired folk in the condos along the beach, but there will be people of all ages in the complex. A good option is to come down and rent short term, or even 6 months, or longer, get to know the areas of the island and what appeals to you, and then purchase.

I recommend Kim Lucas from Coldwell Banker.
She is very informative and takes the time to show you around.
