Scooter rentals on STX?

Since I'm heading your way soon I'm investigating all modes of mobility, including my flat, heel spurred, feet. Car rental places are very helpful but a bit pricey for the long haul. Island car is the goal but there may not be a glut of them (the ones that work) when I get there, and not at a price that's appealing. So I'm down to scooters/mopeds/flat feet. Don't like things that go too fast without safety nets, like cars have. Looked in the yellow pages without much success.

So if you have any suggestions, other than taxies and safaris, I'm all eyes...

Thank you and good night...

Unfortunately, we don't have scooter rentals anymore. You might try to buy a cheap car (i know there's one on craigslist for $1500), but there's no other real options other than walking, biking, or taxis. There is a $2 taxi that takes you the main stretch from Csted to Fsted, so you can catch those. The bus is off and on, i have no clue what schedule they work on.

My Turn Scooter Rentals in F'sted. 340-771-1735 or 340-643-6089. Very nice folks. They are still in business, as far as I know. They were a few weeks ago, anyway. Good luck.

My dad has a 1991 Land Cruiser for sale. It's $2000. If you're interested, let me know and I can send you a PM with his telephone number.

Thanks Juanita,

Won't be there until Sept. 1 so I have a little time to look around. Thanks for the info on island cars. Will most likely rent from Judy's until I can find something that looks like caca but runs great. Not an oxymoron is it???

Thanks again...
