Short Term Urgent Housing Needed on St. Thomas

Hello, thank you for taking the time to read this. We are 2 quiet responsible hard working employed adults. We arrived on St. Thomas late last year, intending on relocating here for the foreseeable future. We both are renting from the same landlord on St. Thomas. We are both needing to get out of our current housing as soon as we can manage. We are thinking about leaving St. Thomas, possible relocating to Puerto Rico, in the near future. We had hoped to stay where we were at a while longer, to be able to formulate a long term plan to either stay on St. Thomas or relocate elsewhere. But we have a landlord that is basically trying to take advantage of us for money and is behaving in a hostile overbearing manner. He has already put our places up for rent without even notifying us. The landlord is going back on an agreement with us for repairs we did to an apartment. It is doubtful that either of us are going to get our security deposits back due to the questionable financial situation of the landlord. Though both of us are responsible tenants and up to date on our rent.

So we are trying to quickly locate a cheap place for us to share for a short term, in the very near future. The landlord is unpredictable and not making sense. So, we really don’t know what to expect or when. So we are hoping someone out there may have a little place for rent that would not require a lease or a lot of money up front to move in. As I previously mentioned, we are both employed. Keeping up to date with our rent here while trying to save up enough for first, last, security, etc. is difficult. And with the landlord charging us unjustified fees and withholding money rightfully due to us, it has been near impossible. We are hoping to find a cheap temporary place to get out of this bad situation, and then be able to make an intelligent informed decision on what to do next, without being harassed and mistreated by the landlord.

We are both clean and quiet. We don’t party or do drugs. We are just looking for some peace and to be able to live as dignified adults and not being bossed around like idiot children like is being done to us at our current residence. We can also do cleaning, maintenance work, yard work, or other things like that if you would consider that perhaps in lieu of some of the rent. We could also house sit / pet sit / function as caretakers for a property or something similar. We might have enough for first months and security, depending on the price. We are not looking for a free ride by any means. We are just for our own sanity and well-being, trying to get out of this bad situation and not get into the same or a worse situation.

If you would be able to suggest anything or work with us for something temporary, please let us know. We would sincerely appreciate it.
