Hi everyone! We are going to be off island for the summer until mid to late August. We are looking for someone who would be willing to take our three dogs (a great dane, a black lab and a Cruzan mix puppy) and our cat. This would be a great oppertunity for a summer job for a kid. We'll pay $200 a month and stock you up with all of the food and supplies you need. Our dogs are extremely friendly - very kid friendly. Most of the time, you can find them sleeping on the back patio. They are well trained and are great with commands. A fenced yard would be nice but is not required. Please let me know if you or someone you know may be interested. You can email at Scott@harriscasa.com or call 340-514-7171. Thanks!!

Dog sitters usually get around $20 per day. The price you quote seems pretty low for 3 large dogs and a cat.

Ideally, someone who would be able to take them starting next week to late August but other arrangements can be made if that exact time frame doesn't work. 🙂

Our dogs don't need walked or any special attention other then being fed. I understand this isn't a huge money maker, however if someone has a yard and doesn't mind having some furry friends around for a couple months then that would be a big help!

Can't you have someone come to your home to take care of them? Moving is disruptive for animals, particularly cats and since you have the facilities for them right there it would seem to be a better idea.

Fenced Yard not Required? Huh? That is bad parenting. Period. If you really care it would be a fence or a no go. Just Saying. Flame me up.

So if they don't need a fenced yard, or need to be walked, where do they do their business?

It would be much better for your animals and your peace of mind to hire a house-sitter than to take your animals to a new and strange location with the attendant problems that may cause. They would have to interact with strange, territorial, neighborhood dogs and cats, they may be tempted to stray to find their way home, be at mercy of vehicular traffic, just to name a few.
That's allot to ask of someone to take so many animals into their home. Animals require much more than just being fed and watered daily.
Let's not mention picking up poop daily!
You and your animals would be much happier in the long run with leaving them in your own home. Call your Veterinarian and ask if they can recommend someone responsible and trust-worthy to house sit for you. Even if you have to pay them it will insure the safety of your beloved pets.
I always hire a house-sitter for my gang (4 dogs/2 kitties) when I have to be off island. It's well worth it!

IMO, this is not an area to skimp. We only had one cat and still felt easier if there was a sitter residing in the home.
