Hello all,

I am a student with serious intentions to come work from mid-May to mid-August this year. I have been in communication with The Buccaneer Hotel and I am looking for a studio apartment near there or near a bus location that takes people there. If you have any contacts, ideas, or suggestions please let me know.

Thanks!

A.J.

Right across the street - the first driveway to the east from the Buccaneer is a "Boarding House" that has 1 & 2 bedroom apartments w/ utilities included. Ranges from $450 - 800/month. It is definately walking distance to the Bucc - as I have friends that live there and work at the Bucc.
Not elegant . It is definately a big boarding house - but it is the cheapest, closest you will find. Mr. Cintron is the man who owns it. I can get his number if you are interested. Also, HR at the Buccaneer has the info too.

Hi, all...
I am also planning to come down for about 3 months, probably starting in May, but I am flexible. Might be easier and less expensive to share a house...any thoughts?

I live not even a mile from the buccanear and the apartment next to us is available right now. It is a one bedroom apartment, very safe, furnished for $450/month. Landlord is GREAT and so are the neighbors. No smoking/no pets, get back to me if you are interested

Hello there. This might be a bit out of the price range, but I may have a studio in September and October for $750 per month. It is fully furnished, includes TV, basic cable, wireless internet access for PC's, is clean and generally a great neighborhood. It is within 2 miles of Buccaneer, 1/2 mile or less from Gallows Bay, and less than a mile from old Christiansted. It does include all utilities except for a private phone, has a 20x8 private patio.

I also have a 1 bedroom that is the same deal that may open up at that time. My name is Dan, my email address is Affiliationllc@aol.com, and my phone is 340-513-7941. If you shoot me an email with the subject: Apartment, I can send pictures.

This is also open for PMVers for short periods of time if needed. The only difference for PMV folks is that linens and towels are provided as well as all paper goods, soaps etc. Will do a seperate posting about that.

If this will help anyone, just let me know,

Dan

Thanks to everyone for all the help and responding. I am still waiting for The Buccaneer to get back to me, I sent in my application last week. I am interested in a roommate also and the rates around there don't look too bad compared to what I had been finding. I am now getting the idea that it wouldn't be out of the question to walk to the Buccaneer.

Thanks again,

A.J.

It is very unusual for any business to respond to a application/resume from someone who is not on-island unless you have a special skill that is in short supply. Many people think about/talk about/plan to move to the islands and very few do. Most business want to see you in person, on-island before they will take you seriously.
