I'm looking for a long-term mooring on st croix for a small fishing boat. Hopefully in Christiansted/Gallows Bay or Salt River. I've also tried to look up how to do permitting and get one installed but have had little success. I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has been successful in finding or installing a mooring on St. Croix.

We have a strong 3 point mooring (1/2 inch chain and 1 inch line) in Gallows bay that we may consider selling. We had put it in about a year ago and everything is still in great shape. The simplest way to get a mooring put in is to call Ken Shull. It took me about 20min to get a permit from DPNR

Just to add, I don't believe moorings are transferable. You have to go to DPNR for help.

The ground tackle is but he would have to obtain a permit for his boat from DPNR
