If
you are relocating with children, researching the school systems
in the Virgin Islands is likely one of your top priorities. Public,
private and parochial schools are available in the USVI. Schools
exist on St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. John. Water Island has no
schools, it does offer a home school group. Home schooling is an
option some parents on all four islands pursue.
There is a university in the Virgin Islands, it offers associates,
bachelors and masters level degrees. The University of the Virgin
Islands has a campus on St. Thomas and on St. Croix.
Note: St. Thomas is in close proximity to St. John and to Water
Island; some students from St. John and from Water Island commute
daily to attend classes on St. Thomas and while the percentage is
far fewer some students also commute from St. Thomas to St. John
and Water Island.
Visit the Virgin
Islands Department of Education for general information on
public schools in the Virgin Islands. For information on Public
Libraries visit
Virgin
Islands Public Library.
