Dear Good People:

I was called into a meeting today regarding the lack of services for students in the territory who have a disability in the area of anything neurobiological and developmental, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, Shadow Syndrome etc. As the territorial officials were not able to provide me with any information as to families, I am reaching out to offer free consultation in this area. Yes, it would be provided by the educational system, however while I work on arranging a meeting to provide demonstration of how yes, it can be done, I would like to hear directly from families how securing an ABA therapy system in the USVI can be done.

I have opened 43 clinics for ABA therapy, and at least would like to understand better the current and projected need.

All the best to you, and if you will pm me, I will provide you with all contact information.

Thank you for your time, and if you are one of these individuals or families, I know you will understand the importance of this message.

All the best, and I would like to focus on a solution.

I am sorry to be late in getting back to you. ABA/FBA are both therapies that are not new in concept, but have been found to work very well with young children with autism spectrum disorders, behavioral dyscontrol, etc. They stand for Applied Behavior Analysis and Functional Behavior Analysis. FBA is more thorough for unusual behaviors, however it is time and team consuming, and therefore more costly. Having an ABC (yep, another acronym! Applied Behavior Therapy Coordinator) will assist in determiming which form of behavior analysis is better at a given time.

An update.....I am being licensed as an educational consultant and will be most likely working closely with the Department of Human Services and the Department of Education. I am finding a tremendous number of grants that could be applied for, however I have not yet had any specific requests.

For groups or organizations that are not sure what to apply for, I can be put on retainer to do grant research, and with the first funded grant, it will be credited in terms of what the grant would normally payment upon granting that I would normally receive.

If you have any questions about the process, please write to Affiliationllc@aol.com re: Grant making or send me a PM with information on how to get in touch with you. Again, in the states on a bad year, I brought in three million per year. On a good year, 5+ mil. I would love to get some of these resources in action in the USVI.

All the best, and PLEASE remember to PM me or email as I am not getting notices when posts are made under either education or grant writing.

Thank you as always,

Daniel J. Gilbride, MA/MRC, LPC SC-CT
