Hello everyone. Today I registered to participate as an artist in the Starving Artist day at the Whim Museum grounds. As I used to have art openings at Yale, prior to my accident, I am pretty used to the art scene, but have had to re-learn how to paint. Different (two handed) but I kind of like it.
All I know at this point is that I need to bring a table and chair(s) for a spot under the tent. I was not able to get much more information than that such as: When do you arrive to set up? What to people do with larger pictures do in terms of hanging/displaying? How long do most artists stay? (I was told 'into the afternoon', but I'm not sure what that meant).
I am not desperate as I am pretty good a winging it, but as this is the first time I have showed art since my accident in '99, I'm feeling a little more anxiousness about this and doing it right.
If anyone with experience has a few tips, I would love to hear them, and to learn. It would also be great to then meet you at the show if you are participating! I have only been on the fringes, and have yet to actually meet other people with a desire to create art.
Thank you once again for your support. As I am eclectic, to say the least, you have all been most kind in helping me to find my way as I approach my 1 year anniversary,
