I think the Tamarind Moms meet on Tuesday mornings at the Tamarind Reef. Just be aware they have a reputation for leaving behind debris. One day when they left we helped a guy from the rental shack pick up trash (including dirty diapers) from the grassy areas and bushes while he gave my 6yr old grandson and I a tour of the wildlife in that area.

[Good Day,

My name is Robyn LeeLing and I just wanted to let everyone know that I am a college student looking for some more jobs regarding babysitting or nannying. I have lived on St. Croix for several years and have experience with kids ages 6 months to 16 year old kids. This is not your regular babysitting where you just have someone watching your kids. Activities and interaction are involved and the parents always get home to a quiet home to rest after a night out for themselves. Everyone needs it!! If you would like to know more information please feel free to email me at rleeling08@gmail.com.

I am very interested--we just moved here a month ago, and while my 3-year-old daughter is in preschool right now, she will be out for several weeks in August. We'd love to find a way to stay connected with other families! Please email me at rachelrenfro@gmail.com.

I'm am so jealous of the incredible response on this topic! I'm on stt and posted virtually the same thing and didn't receive the responses I'd hoped for. Seems as though all the young parents are on stx 🙁

LotsToLearn

Please don't get discouraged or sad this is an old post, from 2009. The most recent has been a nanny looking for work. Did you actually PM any of the other Moms to see if there actually a playgroup (even though it is on Stx)? Sometimes this board leans toward Stx interests-more Stx posters than Stt. Are you going to take the advice that the Stt posters gave you on you other threads, including me?
Keep your head up and good luck!

Yes. I'm taking your advice. I've been to 3 different beaches in the past week and have met lots of cruisers. Perhaps I'm in the right place at the wrong times. Most of what I have learned from locals is that all the kids are in school during the week. I heard about a dance school on waterfront that I'm looking for. I missed the tot lot this morning. It's only been 2 weeks so I'm trying not to get discouraged. Looking forward to Miracle on Main Street and the movie night this week to get out with the locals.

Sometimes going to the beach during the week after school let out might be a good time to go the beach. Some locals might take their children then. But at this time of the year the water is cold and not many locals go to beach to go in the water, just to hang out.so go alittle before school let's out and see what happens.
The other activties you are looking forward to will be great fun for you and your child & to intermingle with other parents.
