We are considering moving to the VI and have heard the cost of living is very high compared to the U.S. We would like to rent a 2 bedroom condo or home furnished. Can someone tell us what we can expect to pay in St. Croix? Thanks

A 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home that you would be happy in - probably will be $1,000 - $1,500. This will not include utilities. You might find something for less, but you will need to be here and do some legwork.

Also look at the classified section here and you can see some rentals listed.

Hi grammie3,

I have a small apartment complex on St. Croix. You can take a look our website at http://www.virginislandsrentals.com. There are pictures and prices. We are kind of a middle of the road type of place. We aren't luxury, but we're very decent and a very convenient place to live. Our website should give you a good idea of what to expect, in a place you wouldn't mind living. You may find less expensive after you have been here for a while, but like Ric said, you really need to be here.

When are you thinking of making the move? Keep reading this board, plan a visit, if you haven't been here before, and let us know if we can help.

All the best!

Thank you to all of you for your responses. This has been very helpful. We are planning a tour of island first before moving and we can research apartments again. Thinking of making a job change to St. Croix so trying to learn as much as we can before we make the big move.. Thanks again.
