If anyone has Section 8 housing, or transferred to US Virgin Islands through a port from a US city, can they please post about their experiences with the process, from the VIHA, to the rental process itself, I am dying to know how hard or easy it is to move from the US to the US Virgin Islands! Thanks!

I'll put it to you bluntly. If you depend on section 8 on the mainland, you can't afford to live in the VI.

Don't give up your dream though!  Keep praying!  Where God's will is, there is always a way!  He puts dreams in our hearts for a reason!  Hold fast to your dream and ask Him for the way!

it would be very difficult to live here when you have section 8. its difficult enough without.

not sure about how to transfer from one state/territory to another. might be best to call your local office and ask them how to transfer your section 8.

there arent that many who make the transfer.

if its just beach life you are looking for there might be better options mainland  for you than moving here due to the expense of it all.
