Subject: CCT's Last Show of the Season: "Sordid Lives" Open's Friday

Dear CCT Members and Friends:

The outrageous Sordid Lives — a black comedy about white trash — written by award-winner Del Shores, opens Friday, July 10. This is Caribbean Community Theatre’s last production of the season — so don't miss it! There will be six evening performances of the show on Friday and Saturday,
July 10-11, 17-18, and 24-25, 2009 at 8:00 PM, as well as a matinee on Sunday, July 19 at 4:00 PM.

David Richards and Michael Armendariz direct the cast, including Michael Armendariz, Robin Becker, Kathy Bennett, Charles Braslow, Cindy Clearwater, Judi Fricks, Fred Handleman, Dennis Gribbin, Allan LaBerteaux, Tish Mercier, Christine Thomas and Glen Wells. (Attached are two photos of the cast.)

…The hilarious sordid details about a Texas family surface with a vengeance when relatives converge for the funeral of Peggy, who has died after tripping over her lover's wooden legs! Toss in a couple of feuding, big-haired daughters, a jumpy aunt who just quit smoking, the scorned neighbor from hell, and the crazy, cross-dressing “Brother Boy” and you’ve got an outrageous train wreck you can't help but watch...

The play enjoyed a successful, cult-like following in California. Its popularity spawned a movie, which also became a cult hit. The movie then spawned a cable series. The play finally arrives on St. Croix!

Tickets will be sold at the door: $15.00 for adults; $8.00 for students. No reservations are accepted; arrive early for best seating. Not recommended for children under age 13. For more information, please contact CCT at 778-1983, email eileencct@gmail.com or visit our website at www.cct.vi.

Also, volunteers are needed as bartenders, house managers and raffle ticket salespeople. Help out CCT and see the show for free! It's win-win! Also needed: items for the raffle bag. If you can help out, please contact Eileen (see above).

Thanks, and hope to see you at the theater!

Christine
