water sports
Hi everyone, I just moved to Red Hook on St. Thomas and am wondering where a good place is to learn how to windsurf/ kite-surf. I'm a snowboarder, so I need something else while I'm away from the cold. If anyone feels like inviting me out the next time they are out let me know! RJ
Call West Indies Windsurfing 775-6530. The kite surfing seems to be by word-of-mouth., but I bet they can help you with that also.
Hi Guys,
Yes, West Indies windsurfing is good. Look straight across the harbor at Vessup Beach. Right now there are probably people in the water. That's West Indies.
there are great kite surfing lessons available on STX if you want to plan a trip over to go through the course with one of the sport's top professionals as your instructor.
I just moved to Red Hook. I grew up on the Atlantic ocean and was a sailing instructor and also worked with personal watercraft. I am also a surfer. I am interested in finding a job which allows me to work outside and use some of these skills. Anyone have any ideas?
If you're interested in watersports, especially windsurfing or kite surfing, the best way to get started is to call West Indies Windsurfing at 775-6530. While they specialize in windsurfing, it's likely they can also point you in the right direction for kite surfing, which seems to operate more by word-of-mouth. Don't hesitate to give them a call; they should have the inside scoop on all the best spots and equipment you need for an exciting adventure on the water.
