A source for 'farm fresh' eggs on STX?

We'd much rather pay for good, free-range and/or 'organic' eggs (and support the local agri), instead of what's in most stores. - Any recommendations?

You all are wonderful, in your many and varied ways. 🙂

MANY thanks.

He has a roadside stand on the corner in Southgate towards Cheesburgers.

Sejah Farms near Midland Rd has them. So does Quality Foods in Castle Coakley area near Tropical Plumbing.

You can also find them at La Reine Saturday morning market but get there early as they go fast.

I get mine from market stand on Saturdays across from Beaston Hill gym. Great local produce as well. Awesome people run it!

I too prefer to buy local eggs, too, but be sure to compare the size of them to figure out what you're really paying. My experience is that they are on the smaller side. After doing the math, I've gone back to getting imported cage-free eggs, which seem pricey but are actually cheaper on a per-omelette basis than what I was paying for the smaller local eggs. I'm all for supporting local farmers, but they seem to get plenty of support -- local eggs sell out quick around here, and I don't think the quality is necessarily better than their imported competition.

my wife and I did a taste test and we had a hard time telling the difference. We just like eating local foods though. I'm sure they are better for us

We bought local eggs on stx once. When we saw the size, and knew the price, we never bought them again. They sure were pretty colors though!
