A Wonderful Pleasant Experience!!!
Today, I decided to drag myself into the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs to renew my business license that due to dread of the task I allowed to expire..... Ugh!
I trudge in, logged in, 12:05 pm, lunch hour! I am asking for it! Well........it was like Ellen had picked my number and it was 12 days of Christmas! The nicest receptionist, MS PATRICIA GREENIDGE, came from behind her counter took me by the arm and personally demonstrated the new computer system to me for renewals! Then escorted me to the cashier and helped drain my bank account! But I loved every minute of writing that check! The reason why........TREMENDOUS personal assistance and she gave a care that my experience was pleasant. In fact all of the ladies were smiling, laughing.....even the security lady sitting in the lobby actually woke up to smile! No joking, I am saying it was fun and I thought to myself, WOW, there are kind people in government positions that care. I told her even though I could electronically renew, I was coming back in a year to experience this again! No computer ever gave me this kind of chill....
THANK YOU PATRICIA GREENIDGE!!!!!! God Bless You and your fellow co-workers! I needed a good day, not great, just good and you made it more than I needed!
Next time you go in tell Patricia to keep smiling and laughing......today.....it made a difference to a resident.
Peace.
how wonderful to share this, and big kudos to patricia for providing such great customer service!

Wait. No. WHUT? THIS is the standard now? If the security guard WAKES UP, we're doing well?

Ha! I have photographs of security guards who were sleeping at my former workplace. I never did turn them in, but I probably should have.
On a positive note, I'm happy to read about the rest of this experience. People like that make it fun to do business.
Sounds ike a thank-you note to the commissioner mentioning the employees should be next on your to-do list.
Where's the t-shirt "The Firings Will Continue Until Morale Improves!"????? Oh. With a photo of our governor.
I also had a very pleasant experience with a government employee recently. When I called the property tax office on STX to inquire about how to pay my taxes from off island, I got a very friendly, helpful, lady. I'm sorry I didn't write down her name, and I'm afraid I would get it wrong if I try by memory, but we also shared a couple of laughs.:-)
