Hi All
Need some help! Does anybody know which Stateside vehicle insurance companies are accepted by the St Croix BMV? I know for sure that USAA is, but wondered if there were any more out there. BMV will not read from their list of companies accepted as it is too long! Grrrr!

This comes up time to time on the board. To my knowledge USAA is the only one.

I don’t think it’s the only accepted auto insurance provider. If I’m not mistaken The Hartford is fine too.

Hartford does NOT insure cars in VI. Real Legacy in Puerto Rico does.

Give Hubert at Island Insurance a call (340)773-6006. He's sure to know what is and isn't accepted, and unlike the DMV you'll get a response from him! Highly recommended. Let him know it was IslandHops that told you to call.

In our experience, while State Farm is licensed to sell/provide automobile insurance in the USVI, the USVI BMV will not recognize them as a valid insurance carrier. So, you get to pay more for less or more for same or more for more. Nice racket.
