The average nightly low temperatures at the STX airport between 1971 and 2000 look rather nice, don't they? 🙂

I've had 3 fans on high pointed right at me for the last 2+ months while I slept. I also have a rather nice weather station. It's HOT! It's damned hot!

i have lived in arkansas in the summer when the temps were over 100 and then add the humidity index to it, i have been to az in the summer when the temps are in the 110+ i have lived in md where you get a lot of humidity. i also lived in florida. hot hot hot. i never got a rash until i moved here. it is not so much that it is hot but that most people do not have air conditioning .

so yes it is hot and sweaty.

my mom and her bf from az came to visit me in aug or sept? they have never taken so many showers in one day due to the sweat

My wife doesn't cook with the stove from July to September. We eat lots of salads and BBQ and eat away from home for many meals. We like to sit outside in the evenings but sometimes the mosquitoes don't allow that.

We have split AC units in the bedrooms which are a godsend for sleeping in the summer. We do face North/East and are up a hill so we are graced with some breezes but sometimes not enough.

10 years of research never once turned up advice that COL was greater than 30% higher than average US.

I work from home on north shore STX and middle of the day wirh two fans pointed at me and only wearing running shorts i have sweat rolling down my back. I grew up in Arkansas and lived in Houston for 9 years and i have rarely ever been this hot consistently.

There are many wonderful things about STX and the VI's in gerneral, i just wanted to make sure ALL sides of the equation were presented. I personally don't think most islanders realize how much trouble this JFL hospital situation is and the ripple effect it will have on the already stressed economy.
