I LOVE "Water World" and could never understand why the movie critics didn't love it too!

End of the story:

The Coast Guard says that the tanker was last in San Juan and is just sitting there waiting for its next assignment. Snooze. Nothing interesting about that.

I don't know if it's still there since it's been hazy lately.

I'm officially signing off this beaten-dead-horse thread.

Hopefully it at least provided some amusement 🙂

If it WERE a treasure salvage boat, I'd expect them to tell the newspaper that they were just a tanker waiting for a new assignment or something as equally unimpressive. But with a refinery on STX that has a dozen tankers arriving and departing daily it seems odd that an empty tanker close by would wait that long without a cargo. You're talking about a very large $$ amount per day to have it sitting idle. Sounds fishy. I think that Jules should stage a 3 AM mission to board the vessel and spy out the true story. Take along a laptop computer with a wireless card and a digital camera to send us updates on what he finds out... just in case he isn't allowed to leave once he's on board.

Ok, sorry, you were trying to let this thread die, but I was out of the country last week and missed all the "excitement" until now.
