I need to find a place that recycles aluminum on STX. I know that recently some places were shut down by the police and I am having a hard time finding anywhere that still does this.
Does anyone know of a reputable place?
Thanks!

Not sure this will work for you but the Peters Rest Convenience area has an aluminum recycling bin.

Why would the police shut down a recycling place?

Thieves dem stealing copper and selling it. Even phone lines and power lines - and manhole covers!

I am actually looking for a place that pays for it. There used to be several but I can't find one now. I have a lot of it to recycle.

I saw a guy unloading cans at the recycler in Castle Coakley next to VI Cargo the other day.

Don't know if the buy the stuff or what.

Keep us posted on what you find. We had a bunch also.

Hmm...several years ago they had some sort of federal grant (do we ever do anything else?) for recycling. It was so popular here on St Thomas that they paid all the money out within a few months and just shut the sucker down. People were crying to recycle for free, but no..no more recycling...

Fernando - Castle Coakley - 642-4212
Emmanuel - Glynn - 220-2733
