Hi Everyone! So I want to thank everyone here for all of the info you've given us over the past 10 months. The family and I are making the move to STX! My husband has given his notice, our house is in escrow and now the fun begins of packing and moving. We are so excited for this new chapter in our lives and can't wait to meet you all.

Now that we are in the trenches planning and packing does anyone have a suggestions on movers they used? We are moving from San Diego, California. We've already gotten estimates a few months ago so we know the cost. We just want to hear about how the actually move went and how well your things arrived and if you'd use them again or recommend them.

Thanks!!

So happy for you! You worked hard and persevered so now I hope you reap the rewards. I'm sure there's a lot more hurdles to leap but good luck.

We are doing the same. Using Blue Ocean Transport for both the vehicles and one pallet of household items. Did lots of research and they had very competitive prices and port is close to home, saving money. Of course, we are moving from St. Augustine, FL to STX....not as far as your move.

Congratulations to both on your moves. Just wondering if you have feedback on the moving companies you used. Thanks!

We used a pod company from CA to GO and the Paradise Freight to get our stuff from FL to STX. I can't really comment yet since we don't have our items yet.

When did you ship your belongings and how long does it take?

Our stuff is already here on STX but our long term housing won't be ready till October 1st so it's being stored. It actually got here much faster than anticipated! I'd say from pick up in Cali to clearing customs in STX it only took two weeks!
