Another Shipping Question

I brought WAY too much stuff with me, and would like to ship about a dozen boxes back to the States. It seems like the post office prices, while fairly reasonable for 1-2 boxes, quickly adds up to some real bucks. Are there any other options? No furniture, just some fairly heavy boxes - between 18x18x16 inch to 18x18x24 inch, and up to 50 lbs or so. Not enough for a Door to Door crate, but if I could get them crated for shipment that would be best, since I don't think cardboard boxes handle overseas travel all that well.

Another option to shipping it back--sell it on island if willing to part with it.

Whatcha got? You might find lots of interest...

Best,

It's stuff I want to keep, personal items, extra clothes, personal papers, books, etc.

I wound up using the Postal Service after all - for reference, it ran between .75 and a little over $1.00 per pound (the closer the box was to the 70 lb limit, the lower the per pound cost), so my first 250 lbs (5 boxes) was around $215.00 to ship to Texas. No insurance, but I did pay the .75 per box delivery confirmation. They indicated 4-6 weeks to deliver.

Checking with a local freight company, the 500 lb minimum shipment (with same week delivery) would be approximately $3000.00.

Good thing I don't need that stuff back home anytime soon.
