Okay, so I'm lousy about reading the paper...but I figured news would hit here via the board regulars and I haven't seen anything...any news on whether the new company will get their permits for the ferry and when it will start?

This is my understanding. The new enterprise stated that they needed a reduction in the taxes/fees(?) to help them start up. It is not really economically viable to operate a foreign flagged vessel in US waters without a tax break. This request was turned down so there seems to be some question as to what is going to happen now. Ticket prices may be higher than planned etc....The vessel is still in dock in Egypt so they may not make the season on time.
We could have used a return of the Boston boys, but they cannot operate the run with competition - not enough profit margin or passengers. I guess we might end up with no ferry. Keep fingers crossed.
