Has anybody else ever seen the movie "DINOSAURUS!"? It's a B-movie made in 1960 and filmed in color in STX. The plot involves two dinosaurs and a caveman unearthed while building a dock and then brought to life to wreck havoc on the island.

It could have been made today judging by the subplots. They include waiting for the dock to be built so the big ships will come, locals working on island time, political corruption, government intervention/interference, drinking on the job, etc.

The no-bid contract scenes must have been deleted.

It is a movie though that's so bad it's fun to watch and take in the sghts of STX 45 years ago.

I rented it through Nexflix.

Can you tell the locations on the island it was filmed? I mean, is a scene obviously at Sandy Point or Cane Bay or somewhere you can actually recognise? I'd be curious to see the island from that point in time! I lived there from 1970 off and on to 1975 and miss the rustic feel from that era. (even tho I'm loving it just as much now that I'm vacationing there again 30 years later)

I agree that so much about the island hasn't changed at all. Kind of like when I read Don't Stop the Carnival back in 1970, laughing and agreeing about how true things were to the island--- not realizing that I would be re-reading it in 2005 and seeing the same crazy island life going on now! I guess that's just one of the things that make the islands unique.

Thanks for letting us know about this movie.
