I'm being transferred to St. Thomas with my job On Aug 10th. My question is should I buy a microwave and bring, also on drinking water. Should I bring a water purification reverse osmsis? i see there is a duty- free shopping market. Can I get this kind of equipment at this shopping place.

You can buy microwaves fairly inexpensively here at Cost-U-Less of K-Mart. Duty free shopping is mainly the jewelry, cameras, etc. Doesn't much matter if you are going to be living here because you won't be taking it out of the territory.

Re: drinking water...many people drink straight from their cisterns, others have filters. If you want to bring a filter for your home, sure.

You arent moving to Gilligan's Island. We have microwaves, tv, cell phones, cars, boats, sea planes, concrete buildings, and retail outlets. There is no sales tax, either, except on gas.
