Are there any Bio-tech Jobs in US VI

List:

I am coming over to the VI later in the summer. I am coming on a PMV to check things out in a few weeks. I will be located on STT as my husband is taking a job on STT beginning June 1. I have a B.A. degree in biology and have worked extensively in a laboratory environment. I have checked a few websites, but have ran aground on jobs.

Is there any bio-tech or laboratory type of jobs in the US-VI?

Maybe there are some hospital personnel, nurses, doctors or technicians on the list who may know of positions in hospitals or labs.

Also, is there any diagnostic companies in the US VI?

If there are no available jobs in these areas, does anyone work in a related field or have any leads on what someone with my background and training could do for work in STT.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry, I can't think of any(not saying there isn't any).

Though, I'm sure you can find biohazzards @ the legislature building!

There are a few of those jobs (diagnostic labs, WAPA, Diageo/Cruzan, Hess, government agencies) on STX, though I'm not sure about STT. A few biologist friends of mine in STT have worked at Coral World, though that is more organismal based obviously.

You could think about teaching since the public high schools require a Bachelor's in the subject area (or even a minor in some cases) to be taught (as well as the Praxis exam, but that is easy enough to get). Don't know about private school teaching requirements but i that is something that interests you may want to look into it!

Good luck!!

I think the website is www.careervi or something, but it does list the hospital on each island and some jobs.

There's also vidol.gov, but to actually apply for the jobs you have to go into the Dept of Labor offices.

I applied online for vidol.gov - it was painful, but certainly not as bad as having to GO there.

Hi Suzette,

How bad was it at vidol.gov? What were your results. Is the market saturated? Was it worth your time? What should I expect?

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it!
