A/V and Tech service on STJ

I have long wondered if there is a viable long term market for a group of technical individuals on the island who could specialize in providing video and audio related technical services such as commercial/corporate and promotional video/documentary, as well as home theatre and entertainment system configurations. Services may also stretch towards Internet and in home network troubleshooting.

Having professional experience in high end video and audio production, I can imagine my combined skills could prove very useful on an island loaded with tourism establishments who are very competitive. Am I correct in assuming that the island probably could make great use of a few more technically minded individuals?

E.

There are quite a few technical residents already. As far as commercial work, many of the largest businesses are chains and corporate sends their own employees down when there's work to be done.

When I say commercial, and I really looking more towards the production of promotional material for the small and mid size tourist venues in the area. I haven't noticed much use for a television in my travels to the island, I cant imagine there is a huge reason to push ANYTHING on television there.

There's an island video on TV in the hotel rooms that notes different attractions & shops, restaurants & entertainment here on STT. Plays continuously.

There may not be a huge reason to push anything on television here but there are lots of advertisements for local companies (grocery stores, car dealers, hardware stores, shipping companies, etc.) and these ads are locally produced.

You guys have been extremely helpful, and I really appreciate all of your feedback here. Please feel free to chatter on regarding this subject, it is very fantastic to explore these avenues within the island.
