Avon Skin So Soft - Where to Find?

Okay, okay, me and those no-seeums? Well, you see we're not getting along so good. Actually that's not true - they're, having a grand old feast, on me and I guess loving it, cause they sure keep coming baqck for more! But me, well, I'm not loving it.

Irene told me to get Adolph's Meat Tenderizer and to mix it with water and apply. Messing and after I've been lunched on.

I have been using trusty Benydryl Spray, works well, but again, after they've had dinner!

So, now I have Off Botanical, to try to prevent them from finding me part of their menu.
But this is a very expensive solution to this ongoing situation so............

Can someone tell me if there is an AVON lady on the island from whom I could get that marvelous product that works so well, and makes me baby soft skin along the way - Avons' Skin So Soft???????

Thanks

Paul
I Googled an Avon USVI search and came up with nothing. I wish there were Avon ladies down there! I'll have to stock up before I move. Order online!!
Skin So Soft is great! There's even a SSS mosquito repelant plus SPF 15.

Does the SSS mosquito repelant have Deet in it? One of the reasons to just use the Skin So Soft..........to keep the no-seeums away! But heh, no deet and suncreen, they really got a deal there!

To answer my own question, NO it does NOT contain Deet! Found it online, now if I wanted to order the aeorsol version............maybe it can't be shipped by air? Sunrise ran out of my inhaler because it was no longer able to be shipped by air as it contains a propellant! Sheesh!

On our scouting trip/ honeymoon to STJ this past October, i found some mosquito repellant in Coral Bay that was something like 35% DEET! The can reads that if you are NOT outdoors to wash it off immediatly.....I found out why when I was hit with a horrible wave of nausea and light headedness!! YUCK!! I later found a non-aerosol can of natural mosquito spray containing primarily citronella! Didn't smell great, but also didn't contain DEADLY chemicals!
What's a no-see-um? Are they not affected by DEET!

Good Luck on the SSS.

Amanda, the no-seeums can, I believe, be repelled by a product with DEET, but as you noted, so are us humans. I have no interest in slathering that - (how shall I word this), I don't wish to have on MY body.

No-seemus, as I've read somewhere online, are attracted to the natural body odor of us humans that is given off in the form of ? carbon dioxide ? or something (not bad BO from not bathing, but the natural stuff)......at any rate, no-seeums, the females which are the ones that bite, and need to do so before they can mate!!!.......can't "see" us if we have something like Avon Skin So Soft with (some number), that may include sunscreen or not - that effectively masks our human scent from the little preditors!

The product online that gave the above information was selling a product, that I believe contained I believe lemongrass. A shop in the Royal Dane Mall has a local product which supposedly will keep them away, and is totally botanical in nature.

Paul,
There is an Avon lady in Red Hook - Call Linda at EESS (775-5262) or try the hair salon next door. If that doesn't work ask Mrs. Dorbeck at the pharmacy - she will know.
Pamela.

AWESOME Pamela - Thanks.

Sunrise Pharmacy in Red Hook is as of yesterday a thing of the past. They have pulled out!!!! It was rather sudden from what all the employees told me. Not really surprised, they had almost no merchandise.

Wow! Boy this living on the other side of town sure keeps my knowledge of local gossip down to a minimum! I know they didn't have much in stock and as nice as the pharmacists were I had to move my scrips over to drug farm for the sheer purpose of getting them filled when we needed them. But I just saw Richard the other day at the Sunrise in Long Bay .... wonder if they are closed as well.
Oh well, I have Dorbecks number somewhere at home. I will call her and see if she is the Avon lady.

I found over 400 "Skin So Soft" items on E-Bay. Most of them ship USPS so you should get it fairly quickly and the prices seem very good.
