Well we had to leave STX for AZ. Had a great 3 weeks. My wife Annie said that I made more of a commotion having to leave then Ike. Got to meet TRW. Had a very nice time chatting with him. Got to spend a lot of time with Linda J and Ric at Trivia and at the beach diving. Met some other nice guys at Cane Bay, Greg and Michael and got to dive with them. Finally got to see black tip reef sharks, first time in the USVI for me.
Spent a lot of time at Off the Wall, great Pizza. Got great johnny cakes at Dominoes ( best on the island). Great cheese burgers at Chenay Bay on Wednesday nights. Great lunch at Bombay Club.
Was so thankful that we had great weather while we were there. Got to dive Salt River and out front of Csted with SCUBA.
To end a great trip, Alexandra and her husband Dave invited us out on the Parrot Head on our last night. We had Buck Island all to ourselves.
We are already making plans for the next trip in Feb. or Mar. Can't wait, in fact I might come down with a dive buddy before the end of the year.

Sounds like you had a good time. Were you scuba when you seen the reef sharks? Also where did you see them? I would like to do that thank you for any insight.

It was a shore dive at Cane Bay. They were to the right of the 1st buoy and they were at about 160' ( guessing, as I only went down to 130'). I saw two and the photos turned out very dark. Two of the guys that I was with went deeper and said there were four. Maybe when I have time to lighten the shots in Photoshop I will be able to make out the other two.
I did also see a free swimming nurse shark when diving with SCUBA. You usually don't see those during the day.

The only downside to the trip. I was a little disappointed in posters to this forum. I posted that I would like to meet some of the regular posters. The only one who to reply was TRW, who we had a very nice visit with.
I guess the others either figure they don't like my posts, or just want to lurk in the background and be completely anonymous.
I did see Linda J, Ric, and Alexandra who I have known for years.

I am not there full time yet. When I am you will find me at off the wall. I have done that dive a few times never seen sharks that's just my luck. It took me a long time to see my first green moray.

That was the first for me. On one dive out front of Csted, we saw THREE free swimming green Morays! One was not very friendly, in fact I backed away. I was above him shooting photos and he stopped and looked like he might charge.LOL
I don't think it was the one that bit Robert and Michelle a while back, as that one I'm told was much fatter.

Did it attack both of them at once. If so that must have been just wild. The moray at Carambola is very big but he did not go crazy one me.

Not on the same dive.
The dive shop was feeding it on previous dives, I'm told.
SCUBA warned us not to get to close because the other shop had been feeding it, keep your hands close.

I dive by my self most of the time. Some say you should not do that. A least I have control of what nobody around me is doing. It seems like bad things happen when you feed under water. If you want to see more fish just swim faster.
