Bad AA Batteries

Hey All!
I can't remember which thread I posted on, but I was telling y'all about some cheap no-name (AA and others) batteries I got from Pueblo. They are under the name "TechnoCell" and an 8-pack of AA's go for $2.99 or so. Well...don't buy them! I found that with our humidity, they seep/sweat/drip, whatever and can ruin your stuff, plus, I'm sure the liquid is toxic. I plan to tell the store about this, but doubt that they'll do much. In the meantime, I'm stuck with LOTS of these batteries and plan to use them up...they seem to last 2-3 weeks before "sweating".
Sorry if I led anyone out there to buy these, but...who knew? Once again, you get what you pay for. 🙁

Put them in the refig, will stop the seep/sweat/drip and will extend the storage life.

LOL, Pueblo doing something about this is a funny thought, this is the same store that put Austin Peanut butter crackers on special at the front of the store the DAY AFTER they were recalled last year for samonella!

Lizard and Dixie,
I've heard about the fridge thing, but what was happening was that they were "sweating profusely" while IN the things. It was only when I went to turn them on and they wouldn't work (after only about 2 weeks) that I went to change them and found all this yucky liquid. Then I checked out thew rest of my stuff with the same batteries and found the same thing. As for the unopened packs, I only found 2-3 icky ones.
But thanks for reminding me of the fridge trick! I'm going to put the rest of the packs in there pronto!(tu)

FWIW, I've had good luck with the brands sold at Cost-U-Less, both premium brands and the Ray-O-Vac's.

Last year, Plaza Extra had a sale on Tostino Pepperoni pizzas (& others w/ pepperoni) after all Tostinos pizzas containing peperoni were recalled in the states due to fecal bacteria which killed 6 people.

I guess plaza didn`t want thier arab counterpart Pueblo to out do them!
At least, Plaza only rips off the customers, not WAPA(which I'm told that if the owner wins in court, WE will have to pay for his theft).
Though both are equal in that they couldn`t care less about us!
Derka Derka, Mohamed Jihad!
