Why would you say that?

At one time, schoolchildren were taught that a sentence should never end with a preposition. However, this is a philosophy actually associated with Latin grammar. While many aspects of Latin have made their way into the English language, this particular grammar rule is not suited for modern English usage.

"Also how much does private schools pay and are there any benefits?"

1)how much do private schools pay
or
2)how much does a private school pay

That's my take, but I am just an engineer. E=I*R

"The opinions and other information contained in OxfordWords blog posts and comments do not necessarily reflect the opinions or positions of Oxford University Press."

I can agree that sometimes ending a sentence with a preposition sounds less stilted, but not in this case. I haven't seen any other posters inquiring about teaching jobs express themselves so carelessly on this forum.

Yes, I saw you asked for one, but this is a relocation forum, not an English grammar forum.

Exactly. Your pointing out the poor grammar was in very poor taste.

If I had pointed out the grammar, Alana would not have had to ask why.

Taste is subjective. I was expressing my honest opinion.

Glad to know we have grammar police on duty on the forum.

Here's some information for the poster on schools in the VI.

https://www.vimovingcenter.com/schools/

Private schools such as Antilles or Montessori on STT and Gift Hill in STJ are probably better to teach at in terms of salaries, equipment, school supplies and environment.

Public schools often are faced with shortages in supplies, depending on the school. The parochial schools are in between.

I'm not familiar with private schools on STX.

The instructions for the forum specifically call for grammar, misspelling and typo tolerance.

The OP considers himself/herself a teacher. Dangling prepositions are quite colloquial and accepted as part of daily speech in many parts of the US - as is not agreeing a noun and verb. However, a teacher should know better than to put these grammar misuses in writing.

I am deputized member of the grammar police, though. My mother was the sheriff.

Ah, the Drumpf Syndrome - the inability to hold a thought in but blurt it out indiscriminately. Kale enemas all around this morning and may the propulsion force be with you..

The OP would have to be a masochist to return to a thread where out of 20 posts only one provided any information and the rest centered around grammatical faux pas.

Maybe the OP is a Kinder-garden teacher or ELC specialist and just very used to the baby bickering like this and has gleaned a good understanding of the question already.
