We saw a black dog this morning about 11 a.m....looked like a black lab mix walking along the side of the road on 80 about a half mile east of the marina heading toward Christiansted. It looked quite emaciated, but still very alert and coat in good condition. If he was full weight he might weigh about 60 lbs. I think the dog was a male...it all happened fast and couldn't tell for sure. No collar. We stopped off the road and left him a granola bar..that's all we had..maybe it'll get him through until he finds his way home. Just wanted to post this in case someone was looking for this fellow.

You should have called the animal shelter!!!
They would have picked the poor baby up!!! Good meal, bath, vet check & roof over his wittle head until lost owners located or new owners found.
I hate it that folks here think animals are disposable :-X:X:X:-X

We did call the animal shelter as soon as we got home. We considered trying to see if we could catch the dog, but there was traffic and the poor guy didn't readily want to come to us....we didn't want him to get hit by a car if we spooked him. So I hope the shelter was able to find him and get him.
