Does anyone know how you would go about getting the blueprints of a house we own. Who would you contact and a phone number to call.
Thanks Carole

For property(land)You can go to the lieutenants governors office(on STT) next to builders Emporium, near the hospital.
If you know the surveyor, you can get copies for $12.50 ea.
Both can supply you with a as built survey.
For your home plans, you`ll need to contact the DPNR @ the airport.

I know, and yes I know once again, please strike me down.

There are rules about touting ones business, thats why I'm already chastising myself. Small story, my husband had been a leading homebuilder stateside. No influence here, the health department should have everything on record. As I could tell anyone, always get three competeing bids for the work. Make sure that the low bidder does have insurance. Get a feel for the subcontractor, if he feels a little sleezy, pay more and rest easier.

I would be surprised if DPNR had copies of the blueprints. When we bot our house we found them stuffed away in a closet in a tube.

Same here. Found the plans to our house shoved in an open wall space. Even found plans for future expansion of the existing house, retaining wall, etc.

DPNR may have some records. Bring a tax bill, deed with any history and plot #. When I buit a few years ago I had to give them 6 sets of plans, I believe they kept at least one. Ask around, maybe someone knows who built it.

Depends on how old your house is. ALot of blueprints were destroyed during hurricane Hugo. If you know the previous owner of the house you could contact them. I have been told ( and i am a real estate title abstrator) that there is not much you can do to locate plans.
Yes check with a surveyor and see what he has as far as an asbuilt on your house. course that will usually only show the outside of house.

Good luck!!!
