Just looking for info on shipping our basset hound to ST Thomas. Wondering if she will be crated and sedated and what the airline costs, look like for dogs and any vet info / requirements. Anything outside of her normal shots.

Be aware that there is a summer cut off limit due to the extreme heat in cargo for flying dogs/pets back and forth between states and VI.
Check with the airline you will be flying on for their polices regarding traveling with pets.

They cannot be sedated if traveling in the cargo hold.
Right now it is $175.00 on American Airlines to travel below.

there is all the info you need to fly with your dog.

There was a time, not too long ago that airlines would not allow your dog to travel without being sedated.
Glad that policy has changed altho not sure about it with some dogs who may be of an extremely anxious or aggressive nature and the way they may be handled once out of your sight.
