Appears Caribean Auto Mart of STX filed chapter 7 in March. 7 requires a liquidation.

Wonder what that will do to warranty service...I think honda took over the nissan service when they went under a few years ago, but this might be a much different situation

It shouldn't affect manufacturers' warranties.

but who will do the service...if you no longer have a dealer on island? ..guess it might depend on how many different corporations they own and operate under. More jobs lost for stx....

The concern was warranty service. The manufacturers need to negotiate contracts with other dealers/ car repair places. If no one is willing, then the warranty reimbursement issues can be a pain. Same thing with appliances. For a few weeks last year, there was no one on STX authorized to fix my brand new broken TV .

Its the manufacturers responsibility to have a certified shop avalable to repair your car. They may
have a side shop do the warranty work. I dont know how fast that will happen there but Im sure
there are legal issues that will light a fire under their butts...
