Bubble/Dome Building

We noticed 2 dome buildings on STX wile we visited. One was a small one on a street site and the other was a bit nicer on a hill site. Would anyone know who the builder or architect was on that site. We researched the building style and found many benefits of choosing such a structure. They can hold up very well in hurricans and earthquakes not to talk about the energy benefits they hold.

I think these are called geodesic (spelling?) homes, and they're built from prefabricated parts. Try a net search.

Yes you are correct the one we saw was a prefab. However, the one on the hill was not. I have to find the link to the other kind and post it here. That one is build by using a steal structure and balloon which then gets coated with congreate (sp). It looks nicer than the prefab. I found the link http://www.zdomes.com/
